The Inaugural New Orleans Bayou Bluegrass Festival

Q: What is the New Orleans Bayou Bluegrass Festival ?
A: It’s a celebration of bluegrass music, featuring live performances, great food, local vendors, and family-friendly activities—all set on Bayou St. John at the Deutsches Haus in New Orleans. Proceeds from the festival support the Special Olympics of Louisiana.
Q: What time does the festival start and end?
A: Gates open at 12:00 PM, and the music will go on until 9:00 PM.
Q: Is there an admission fee?
A: Yes! General admission is $35. Kids 12 and under get in free.

Q: Where can I buy tickets?
A: Tickets can be purchased online on Eventbrite or at the entrance on the day of the event.
Q: Is re-entry allowed?
A: Yes! Just make sure to get a wristband at the entrance.
Music & Entertainment
Q: Who’s performing?
A: The lineup will feature 3 top local and 3 regional bluegrass bands. Check out the Eventbrite page for exact schedule.
Q: Will there be activities besides music?
A: Absolutely! Arts & crafts vendors and fun activities for kids.
Food & Drinks
Q: Will food and drinks be available?
A: Yes! We will have a variety of food trucks and beer/wine and soda/water for sale. Deutsches Haus will also serve their menu and a selection of German beers and non-alcoholic beverages.
Q: Can I bring my own food or drinks?
A: Outside food and drinks are not allowed, but we’ve got plenty of great options on-site.
Parking & Accessibility
Q: Is parking available?
A: Yes, paid parking is available on-site, but space is limited. We also encourage carpooling or rideshare services. Cars will not be allowed to stay in the parking lot overnight. Do not park on the bayou side of Moss Street you will be ticketed or towed.
Q: Is the event wheelchair accessible?
A: Yes! Deutsches Haus is fully accessible, and we’ll have designated seating areas for guests who need accommodations.

A: Sorry, no pets allowed—service animals are welcome.
Q: What happens if it rains?
A: The festival will go on rain or shine!

General Conduct and Safety

No Unauthorized Entry: Attendees must present valid tickets or credentials at the entrance. Wristbands, stamps, or badges must be worn and visible at all times.

Follow Staff Instructions: Respect all directions from event staff, security personnel, and volunteers. They are there to ensure everyone’s safety and enjoyment.

Children and Guardians: A parent or legal guardian must accompany minors (18 and under). Always keep a close eye on children.

No Disorderly Conduct: Excessive noise, harassment, fighting, or any aggressive behavior will not be tolerated and may result in removal from the event.

Prohibited Items: ice chest, tables, tents, weapons, illegal substances, fireworks, drones, laser pointers, and other dangerous objects are strictly forbidden.

Substance Use: Adhere to all local laws regarding alcohol and tobacco. Underage drinking and smoking are not permitted. Intoxicated attendees may be denied entry or asked to leave.
Venue Etiquette

Respect the Grounds: Use designated trash and recycling bins. Help keep the venue clean by picking up after yourself.

No Outside Food and Beverage (if applicable): Unless otherwise stated, refrain from bringing your own food, drinks, or coolers. Food and beverages will be available for purchase.

Pet Policy: Service animals, wearing a clearly identify able service vest, are allowed, but other pets are not permitted.

Seating and Personal Belongings: Large umbrellas, tents, oversized chairs, ice chest, and bulky items are strictly prohibited. Attendees may bring “festival” chairs. Keep walkways clear for others.
Health and Safety

Weather Preparedness: The festival is rain or shine. Dress appropriately and come prepared with sunscreen, hats, or rain gear as needed.

First Aid: Familiarize yourself with the location of first aid station. Seek medical assistance immediately if you or someone near you needs help.

Lost and Found: If you lose or find any personal belongings, report them to the designated information booth or lost-and-found area.
Media and Recording

Photography and Filming: Personal, non-commercial photography and filming are allowed, but professional equipment such as DSLR/Detachable Lens Cameras are prohibited. No Flash photography. No Tri-Pods.

Respect Performers and Attendees: Do not record anyone without their permission, and avoid obstructing the view of others with cameras or devices. No one wants to watch the show through your phone or camera.
Compliance with Local Laws and Regulations

Follow All Laws: Attendees must abide by all local, state, and federal laws. Any illegal activity will result in immediate removal and may lead to legal prosecution.

COVID-19 or Health Guidelines (if applicable): Comply with any current public health measures, including mask mandates, social distancing, or proof of vaccination, as required by the event or local authorities.
Refund Policy

By attending the festival, guests agree to follow these rules. Organizers reserve the right to modify policies, remove attendees who violate them, and ensure a safe, enjoyable environment for everyone.
